We have upgraded our Area Calculator. Together with our Hungarian development partner, Promera Menedzsment Kft., we refined the tool to better support the specific requirements of PM3D® pathway construction. The updated calculator can now incorporate inside corners and automatically account for the configuration of intermediate 3D elements. This means customers receive not only an accurate area calculation—including the recommended inside-corner elements—but can also order those exact components directly from us. The modular system now has virtually no limits.
Updated Area Calculator
To make the first steps with the Area Calculator as easy as possible, we created a short instructional video. It highlights the main functions of the tool and includes several helpful tricks that many users were not aware of—such as removing side edge tiles to reduce offcuts. The most important feature is the PDF export, which provides a clean, dimension-accurate layout and even allows users to add their own logo. The exported plans do not contain a Gum-tech® watermark, making them an excellent marketing asset.
Short Instructional Video
With the new erase function, users can now clear the entire layout with a single action. This is especially helpful for pathway planning, as it allows customers to design routes in their desired length and width following a Minecraft- or LEGO-style block-building approach. Rubber tiles can be arranged with generous spacing, nested or angled layouts, and precise distance measurements. In the playground safety sector, L- or F-shaped layouts can significantly reduce material usage. Because Puzzle Mat 3D® does not require edge restraints—thanks to its secure interlock—and edge restraints are typically installed in rectangular formats, the calculator now provides planners with the flexibility to arrange rubber tiles in more creative, efficient, and non-linear configurations.
New Erase Function
The updated planner now includes not only the Puzzle Mat 3D®, but also the Grass Grid Hexagon®. As with all other rubber products, the integrated climate calculator displays the CO₂ savings compared to incineration.
