Since 1995, we have successfully focused on producing recycled products—especially rubber granulate tiles. For decades, we have emphasized the environmental benefits of reclaiming rubber waste instead of sending it to landfills.
As industry requirements and environmental standards have evolved, Gum-tech® established an expert advisory board to optimize processes and develop more advanced recycling solutions. Our Green Choice initiative ensures full transparency and continuous improvement throughout this journey.
All our efforts are based on the Four Stream Model, inspired by circular economy principles and designed to extend product life cycles through repeated reuse.

Green Choice Evolution
Green Choice Evolution provides a clear overview of the progress achieved to date. Based on the Four Stream Model, it documents the measures taken to reintegrate once-used resources into production and to increase the overall recyclability of our materials.
Our latest milestone is the completion of a full COâ‚‚ footprint calculation for our products. By examining electrical energy use, the share of solar power, transportation emissions and binder-related impacts, we can now quantify the exact climate footprint of our materials.

CLIMATE CALCULATOR
For decades, the technology behind most recycled rubber products remained largely unchanged: large molds were filled manually with granulate and pressed under heat. At Gum-tech®, we aim to rethink this process. Manual presses often face challenges such as inconsistent filling, incorrect granulate-to-binder ratios, improper pressing times and resulting quality fluctuations. Maintaining a high product standard under such conditions requires constant supervision and extensive sorting of defective pieces.
To increase efficiency and meet modern sustainability expectations, Gum-tech® — guided by the Green Choice expert advisory board — made the decision to fully automate its production lines. Our new automated Puzzle Mat 3D® and FX safety tile systems have since achieved:
- 70% reduction in production waste
- higher and more consistent product quality
- increased inventory availability
- smoother logistics and improved service for our customers
